The issues of mental illness and substance abuse among past and present members of the military have received increasing press coverage over the past few years, along with a growing awareness of the need for support and prevention resources.

While there are many unique mental health resources available, navigating the system and finding appropriate help can be a challenge. After research across the resources available on the web, the AAC team noticed the absence of a centralized resource designed to help understand the basics of addiction and navigate the veterans’ and active military support systems. They decided to fill this gap of knowledge.

This page summarizes available governmental, organizational and other resources and makes them easily accessible to those searching for assistance. It includes 48 citations of the latest studies and 10 external resources for veterans seeking help.
